Policewoman arrested for releasing Evans after he was captured in 2006

A policewoman has been accused of helping suspected kidnapper Chukwudumeje George Onwuamadike (aka Evans the kidnapper) escape justice in 2006. The woman identified as Tina was until her arrest, a Chief Superintendent of Police (CSP). She was unveiled by a Special Investigation Panel  (SIP) put together by  Inspector General of Police (IGP) Ibrahim Idris to probe Evans’ 2006 arrest, transfer from Lagos State to Imo State and eventual release.
After the Evans was arrested last month, a senior police officer told reporters that his team had apprehended Evans in 2006 after a bank robbery. The officer claimed that Evans and his gang members had a gun duel at the National Theatre in Surulere, Lagos Mainland after a disagreement in sharing their loot.

Vatican's Children's Hospital Offers To Take In Child 'Sentenced To Death' After Pope Intervened

The Vatican's children's hospital has offered to take in terminally-ill baby boy Charlie Gard, who has been sentenced to death when a court asked that his life support be TURNED OFF.

Bambino Gesu hospital in Rome has asked Great Ormond Street Hospital (GOSH) if the tot could be transferred, president Mariella Enoc confirmed.

Her intervention comes after the Pope tweeted his support for the little boy, who has been at the centre of a lengthy legal battle involving his parents and doctors at the central London hospital.

The Vatican's paediatric hospital stepped in after Pope Francis called for Charlie's parents, Chris Gard and Connie Yates, to be allowed to "accompany and treat their child until the end".

Nigerian Senator Allegedly Caught In Threesome Video Admits It, And Says He Has Done Nothing Wrong

A Nigerian senator has owned up to a scandalous video that showed him dressing up in the presence of two women in a room, presumably after sex.

But Bukar Ibrahim, representing Yobe East Senatorial District, told Premium Times  in his first interview since the scandal broke that he had not committed any official wrongdoing and the video was only made public after attempts to blackmail him failed.

“This is a personal, private matter. What does my having been with a girl have to do with the public?

“You know the normal thing: people ask for unreasonable things, and if you deny them, they try to blackmail you if they have a way,” Mr. Ibrahim, a former governor of Yobe State, said Monday afternoon.

Lagos State Government arraigns Lekki Gardens MD, others over involuntary manslaughter, building without approval

 The Lagos State Government on Monday arraigned the Managing Director of Lekki Gardens Estate Limited, Mr Richard Nyong before a Lagos High Court in Igbosere over alleged complicity in the events leading to the collapse of a building in Lekki area of the State on March 10, 2016.
Nyong was arraigned alongside others before Justice Sybil Nwaka over alleged negligence resulting in the collapse of the building which reportedly killed 34 people.

Other defendants are Lekki Gardens’ Executive Director, Mr Sola Olumofe; the firm’s contractor, Odofin Henry Taiwo; Omolabake Mortune, Omotilewa Oluwatosin Joseph, Lekki Gardens, Get Too Rich Investment Limited and HC Insight Solution Limited.

Kenyan lady mistakenly exposed a bit of her sex life in a WhatsApp group

A female Kenyan hotelier was caught up in a raunchy drama when she mistakenly threw up a bit of her sex-life in a WhatsApp group.

It all started with a member of the group who was showing concern to another member, by typing  “it shall be well and God is in control.”
 
The next person then posts: “On matters hospitality.”

The woman, who appears to be having a raunchy chat with someone else mistakenly sent a wrong message to the group, detailing how she enjoys sex.

Professor Stephen Hawking moved an audience to tears on Sunday when he spoke at an event at Cambridge University to mark his 75th birthday.

The theoretical physicist and cosmologist turned 75 in January but an event to mark the diamond jubilee was held on Sunday.

RRS Nabs Two In Lagos For Cable Theft

Operatives of Rapid Response Squad of the Lagos State Police Command in separate incidences yesterday arrested two suspects over the vandalisation of cable and transformer.

The suspects, Oladele Elegbede, 54 and Andrew Onoriode 25, were arrested early in the morning by the operatives in Dopemu and Alausa area of the State with vandalised cable and transformer earth.

One of the suspects, a grandfather of three, Oladele Elegbede, who is a trained electrician, was arrested early Saturday morning by the operatives of Rapid Response Squad in Dopemu for vandalising transformer cables around 4:37 a.m. yesterday. He is from Ilaro, Ogun State.

Elegbede had a week before the incident stolen cables around the transformer, throwing the entire community into darkness.

Thug Batter Pregnant Girlfriend On Crutches To The Floor

A thug was filmed viciously battering his pregnant girlfriend on crutches to the floor before repeatedly punching and stomping on her.

Jamar Bernard Woody, 35, was handed an eight-year jail term for the sickening assault in the middle of a convenience store.

CCTV footage shows Woody repeatedly battering his girlfriend - who was three months pregnant at the time - around the head before then launching a volley of blows as she lay on the floor.
