Chinese Boss Cripples Ogun Worker With Kung Fu Kicks

A worker with Bedmate Furniture Company, Magboro, Ogun State, William Ekanem, is in pain after his spinal bone was allegedly damaged by his Chinese boss, identified as Master Wan.

Punch Metro learnt that Master Wan, who is skilled in kung fu, had demanded to see a bag of rice which Ekanem bought from a foodstuffs seller, identified as Iya Melo, on the premises of the company.

The 27-year-old had reportedly challenged the Chinese for poking his nose into his personal business.

After forcefully checking the content, Ekanem said he was leaving when Master Wan allegedly gave him a kick in the back, which sent him sprawling on the ground.

Mother Ties 2-month Old Baby’s Mouth, Dumps Her In Lagos Bush

The Lagos State Police Command has arrested a 19-year-old woman, Ayomide Adebayo, for allegedly dumping her two-month-old baby in a bush in the Ikorodu area of the state.

Punch  Metro gathered that Adebayo, a secondary school leaver, was allegedly impregnated by one Martins Tewogbade, who lives in the Bariga area of the state.

She gave birth on April 30 at a private hospital in the neighbourhood. However, Tewogbade’s parents reportedly rejected the baby and she subsequently relocated with the child to a friend’s house in Igbode, Ogun State.

Punch correspondent was told that Adebayo approached a worker at a Cherubim and Seraphim Church in the town sometime in May 2017 and begged the woman to take custody of the child. The baby was in the care of the church worker, identified as Mrs. Joke Fatai, until Saturday, June 10, when Adebayo went to withdraw her.

The US pop star is to become the first honorary citizen of Manchester for organizing the 'One Love Manchester' benefit concert just weeks after the Manchester Arena bombing, at her gig, in which 22 people died.
Grande was joined at the 'One Love Manchester'  benefit concert, by top music stars in the industry including, Liam Gallagher, Pharrell Williams, Katy Perry, Robbie Williams, Take That, Miley Cyrus and Justin Bieber.
Around 50,000 people attended the event, millions of people around the world watched it, and so far the benefit concert has raised almost £3 million for victims of the terror attack.

Man who poses as a student to defraud people on twitter apologizes after he was exposed

A few weeks ago, twitter user @samuel_face2 toook to his timeline to appeal to Nigerians to help him raise money to pay for his school fees. Sympathetic Nigerians reached out to him, asked for his account number and then sent him some money.

However after receiving the money, he would block his donors and refuse to correspond with them further. He would also slide into peoples DM to ask them for money. He then blocks whoevers turns him down as well as those who obliged him by sending some money.

South African Girl On Murder Charge For Killing 'Would-Be Rapist'

A 17-year-old girl, who handed herself in to South African police, has been charged with murder after killing a man who allegedly tried to rape her.

"She was on her way to a local tavern when she was allegedly attacked by the deceased and fought back," police said.

The young woman stabbed the 21-year-old man, after overpowering him during a struggle, police say.

India Narcotics Bureau arrests Nigerian man with drugs worth N161m concealed in ladies shoes and bags

A 27-year-old Nigerian national was arrested on Friday night, June 9th, at Vadodara railway station, Gujarat, India after he was found in possession of drugs worth Rs 3.5crore (N161m) in the international market.

The operation was carried out by the Narcotics Control Bureau and the Western Railway Police, based on a tip-off they got on Thursday night.

Pope Francis Is Angry With Nigerian Priests

Pope Francis has laid down an ultimatum to defiant Nigerian priests: lose your job if you don’t obey me and your bishop.

According to a report by Associated Press, Pope Francis met June 8 at the Vatican with a delegation from the Ahiara diocese, south-east Nigeria where priests have been refusing to accept the 2012 appointment by the then pontiff, Benedict XVI, of the local bishop.

The Vatican newspaper, L’Osservatore Romano, reporting the pope’s unusually harsh order, said on Sunday that Francis was acting “for the good of the people of God” by threatening to suspend the priests from the ministry if they didn’t pledge in a letter, by July 9, “total obedience” to Francis and accept Bishop Peter Okpaleke’s appointment.

Imo Bank Robbery: Punch, Others Launch GoFundMe Appeal For Hero Cop

Nigerians have started donating to raise funds for the family of a late Nigerian policeman, Sergeant Chukwudi Iboko, who died after the robbery of a Zenith Bank branch on Wetheral Road, Owerri, Imo State.

The cop lost his life after confronting a four-man gang in a gun battle, which was captured on a Closed Circuit Television camera. In the 2.58 minutes video, the victim could be seen firing at the robbers before running out of a security post.

He was reported to have been injured during the incident and was admitted to a hospital where he died the following day. Following the SOS from the family, some readers urged The Punch to set up a GoFundMe account to raise money for the family.

Retired School Principal Commits Suicide Following Govt Refusal To Pay Pensions

A retired school principal in Imo State, Mr. Stephen Nnadi, has reportedly committed suicide. He reportedly took his life following the failure of government to pay his pensions and gratuity.

The Bishop of the Anglican Diocese of Orlu, Most Rev. Bennett Okoro, announced the pensioner’s death in an emotion-laden 85-page presidential address, delivered during this year’s synodOkoro said, “A former school principal, Stephen Nnadi, who retired from the Imo State school system last December, committed suicide last week.”

The cleric further disclosed that the late retired school principal had reportedly complained on several occasions that life was becoming increasingly difficult and unbearable for him since he retired last year from the state school system.

Most wanted billionaire kidnap kingpin, Onwuamadike, the mastermind of attempted kidnap of Young Shall Grow boss, Chief Obianodo

Most wanted kidnapper, Chukwudi Dumeme Onwuamadike aka Evans, who was arrested in Lagos was behind the kidnap attempt on prominent transporter and owner of  Young Shall Grow Motors, Chief Vincent Obianodo. 

Evans, a native of Umudim, in Nnewi, Anambra State was arrested at his Magodo residence on Saturday, June 10 by the Joint Forces led by the Intelligence Response Team, the Lagos State Police Command's Anti-kidnapping Unit and Technical and Intelligent Unit of the Nigerian Force.

In August 27, 2013, Chief Obianodo was attacked by some gunmen in Festac Town. The attack left four persons dead including two of the gunmen, a police officer and Obianodo's driver while the billionaire sustained bullet wounds.
