72-year-old grandmother becomes a graduate from the same university she dropped out from 55 years ago

72-year-old Darlene Mullins, a grandmother-of-four will be among the 800 students to graduate from Tennessee State University, TSU, on the 6th of May. Darlene will be receiving her degree 55 good years after she started at the institution.

Darlene began her studies in TSU campus in 1962, however, almost immediately, she fell in love with fellow student John Mullins, a senior from East St. Louis, Illinois, who she described as dashing, handsome and “everything to behold".

Singer, Ciara and her husband Russell Wilson have welcomed a baby girl, named Sienna, Princess Wilson. Ciara gave birth to their daughter Friday night, her husband took to IG to make the announcement about an hour ago. She also took to her page to make the announcement. Congratulations to the couple!

Nollywood Actress Ufedo Sunshine recently marked her birthday in Las Vegas, USA. The Actress who travelled to the USA to shoot a new movie, took time off set to jet to Las Vegas, the city of Light to mark her birthday this week. She shared a sexy photo in her hotel room and that was how all hell was let loose. A particular fan took it personal and called her out. The fan wrote;

"All this nonsense Nollywood actresses that like to tempt innocent boys like me. God punish all of you" As if that wasn't enough, the fan went too far by saying that he will rape the actress cum producer.

Monday May 1st public declared as holiday

To commemorate the 2017 Workers day, the Federal government has declared Monday May 1st as public holiday. Minister of Interior Affairs, Abdulrahman Dambazzau announced this in a statement released by the Director, Office of the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Interior, Muhammadu Maccido.

Dambazzau congratulated Nigerian workers for their resilience, hard work and commitment to the present administration despite current challenges. He urged workers to continue to support the Buhari-led administration.

President Muhammadu Buhari has assured Nigerians that despite insinuations about his alleged poor health, there is no need for apprehension over recovery.

Mr. Buhari spoke Thursday evening through a statement  by his Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Garba, explaining why he had been out of public glare for a while.

The statement said, “President Buhari’s absence at the Federal Executive Council meeting of Wednesday, April 26, was a last minute decision; otherwise, the cabinet and the public might have been alerted in advance. As eager as he is to be up and about, the President’s doctors have advised on his taking things slowly, as he fully recovers from the long period of treatment in the United Kingdom some weeks ago.

Those responsible for the death of three Queen’s College students must be prosecuted- Saraki

Senate President Bukola Saraki has vowed to ensure those respondible for the deaths of three students of Queen’s College, Lagos, to be prosecuted. The school suffered an outbreak of Diarrhoea in February. Three students of the school died of the disease while many others were hospitalized.

Some of the students claim that a cat died in their water tanker and they were forced to still use the water to bath despite complains that the water was seriously smelling.
Lagos state government ordered the closure of the school but has now given a nod for it to be reopened tomorrow Saturday April 29th.

The sixth biggest juice factory in the world collapses and the juice flowed through the streets of Russia

It's not exactly milk and honey but it comes close. Rivers of tasty juice flowed through the streets of the Russian town of Lebedyan after the sixth biggest juice factory in the world collapsed. A cascade of flavours including pineapple, apricot, tangerine, grape, mango, pomegranate, apple, cherry, orange, grapefruit and tomato poured out of the plant owned by PepsiCo.

Woman Allegedly Incurs N757,000 Debt At Lagos Bar

A bar operator on Lekki Beach Road, Ademola Ogunbona, says he has lost his livelihood to the alleged debt of N757,750 incurred by one Mrs. Shaw, aka Mama G.

Punch Metro learnt that the woman had gone to the bar around 6am on August 15, 2016, to have fun, which lasted till about 1am the following day.

It was said that Mama G instructed the barman to serve customers that came to the bar throughout her stay, and promised to pick up the bill for the drinks they consumed.

Indian Set To Give Cows ID Cards

India plans to give 88 million cows 'identity cards' which can be tracked online. Now cows and buffaloes in India will be given 'animal health cards', similar to the Aadhar system already in place for Indian citizens.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has initiated a plan to assign unique 12-digit identification numbers to 88 million cattle in India by the end of 2017.

President Donald Trump's Hollywood Walk of Fame star has been vandalized for the second time in six months. This time, with a black marker and the words F*** Trump written above the President's name on the star.

The damage was done over the weekend but is nothing compared to that done last year October when a millionaire heir, James Otis, 52, disguised as a construction worker, used a sledgehammer to completely destroy the star. 

A Northern Nigerian Policeman threatens to kill 200 people if Buhari dies

Inusa Saidu Biu, a police officer from Biu, an LGA in Borno state has threatened to kill at least 200 people if anything happens to President Buhari. According to the armed officer, Buhari was poisoned but still survived. Now they're trying to force him to resign so that corruption will continue in the govt.

Inusa threatened Nigerians in his post on Facebook, saying if anything happens to the president, he will murder 200 innocent people in revenge. Hopefully the Police Force will immediately take action.

Drug Traffickers Now Pose As Police Officers, Go Around In Siren, Pilot Plate Numbers

The National Drugs Law Enforcement Agency has arrested two suspected drug traffickers who posed as police officers in the Nasarawa area of Kano metropolis.

The Kano State Commandant of NDLEA, Alhaji Hamza Umar, told newsmen in Kano on Tuesday the suspects were arrested in a brand new escort vehicle with police colour, siren, pilot plate number and in possession of two police caps.

He said the suspects were arrested while blaring the siren and pretending to be police officers while conveying 715 kilograms of Indian Hemp to Yobe.

Haben Girma, The first deaf and blind student to graduate from Harvard Law school

Haben Girma is the first Deaf-blind person to graduate from Harvard Law School, a feat which earned her recognition as a White House Champion of Change, Forbes 30 under 30, and BBC Women of Africa Hero.

Since her graduation, Haben advocates for equal access to information for people with disabilities. Haben holds a B.A. in Sociology/Anthropology from Lewis & Clark College.

The bearded suspect was said to have been arrested on Wednesday, April 19, 2017, at Ilese, in the Ijebu North East Local Government Area.

Joseph was paraded alongside three armed robbers and kidnappers at the state command headquarters, Eleweran, Abeokuta, on Monday.

Woman Who Tried To Commit Suicide In Lagos Charged To Court

A 51-year-old textile dealer at Balogun Market, Taiwo Titilayo-Momoh, who attempted to jump into the lagoon on the Third Mainland Bridge, Lagos, was on Monday hauled up before an Ebute Meta Chief Magistrates’ Court.

The accused, who was arraigned on a charge of attempting to commit suicide, pleaded not guilty.

But the prosecutor, Sgt. Kehinde Omisakin insisted that the accused committed the offence on March 24 at about 10.00 a.m. on the Third Mainland Bridge, Lagos.

He said the businesswoman was, however, prevented by security operatives from committing suicide.

A teenage couple from Cincinnati, Ohio have committed suicide just days apart and it turns out they left suicide notes and a video on social media before carrying out the act.

18-year-old Mercedes Shaday Smith and 17-year-old Markeice "Mari" Brown had been known as a couple, so when Mercedes killed herself in her dorm room at Lindsey Wilson College in Columbia, Kentucky last Thrusday,
her friends believed Mari contributed to his girlfriend's suicide so they harrassed him online because of it. The harrassment, along with the grief of losing Mercedes, drove Mari to take his life on Saturday

A Middle Aged Man Caught With Human Parts In Ilorin

A middle aged man has been arrested in Ilorin, the Kwara State capital for possessing human parts.

It was  gathered that the suspect had been monitored by residents of Ita Kudimo, Abata Suban, Pakata area of Ilorin West local government in the past few days after speculation grew that he possessed a corpse in his building.

It was also gathered that the neighbours of the suspect swooped on his residence at about noon on Sunday and the suspect was allegedly caught with human parts.

He was later dragged to Adewole Police station in the Ilorin metropolis amidst shouting and rain of curses by the crowd of people.

Human blow up doll Kristyna Martelli dies while undergoing another surgical procedure

Do you remember Kristyna Martelli, aka Human Blowup Doll (HBD)? She's the lady who has had over 100 different surgeries on her butt that left them looking highly unnatural. Sadly, Kristyna is dead. She died during her latest plastic surgery procedure.

There had been rumors of her death but it was just confirmed yesterday by her friend, Amy Anderssen. She revealed that Kristyna died after suffering from a seizure during the operation.

Former President Barack Obama will make first public speech on Monday 3-months after leaving office

Since leaving office as the 44th US President, Barack Obama has been relatively quiet, enjoying his vacation and luxury life. It's been three months now, and he's set to deliver the first public remarks of his post-presidency. Obama is slated to speak with young leaders on Monday, April 24th in his adopted hometown of Chicago.
The event at the University of Chicago is billed by his office as a "conversation on community organizing and civic engagement" and a part of Obama's goal to "encourage and support the next generation of leaders."

Obama is also slated to appear with German Chancellor Angela Merkel in Berlin in late May.
