Alan Ruschel, a survivor of the Chapcoense air disaster, has been discharged from hospital 18 days after the tragic crash which killed 19 of his team-mates.

The Brazilian left back was seen leaving the Unimed hospital in Chapeco on Friday to cheers and applause from a waiting crowd, stepping out of his wheelchair before jumping into a car to depart. University Dropouts Steal 1,730 Cartons Of Fish, Buy Cars

Two sales representatives with the West Coast Fisheries Limited, Oluwaseun Olatunji and Oladapo Fasan, are cooling their heels at the X-Squad of the Lagos State Police Command, Ikeja, for the alleged theft of 1,730 cartons of fish.

The two men allegedly conspired with the company’s driver, one Kayode, to steal the tinned fish at the company’s warehouse in the Ilupeju area of Lagos.

Punch Metro learnt that the men had on several occasions overloaded their delivery van and always shared the money made from the excess cartons.

Uganda's Rwenzururu King To Get Own Cook In Prison

A Ugandan king facing terror charges should have a private cook and a small fridge in prison, a court has ordered.

Charles Mumbere, the king of Rwenzururu, is entitled to these privileges because he suffers from hypertension and diabetes, it added.

But prison authorities say an outsider will not be allowed into the prison to prepare his meals.

The king was arrested last month after a security force raid
on his palace in western Uganda's Kasese district. More than 80 people were killed in the clashes.

A father drowned his six-year-old daughter and placed her body next to the pet dogs he also killed before hanging himself to punish his wife for leaving, an inquest heard.

Keziah Flux-Edmonds was killed by her father Darren, 44, who drowned her in the bathtub of the family home before laying her body in the master bedroom.

Gambian President Allegedly Tells African Leaders ‘I Wont Step Down’ As He Takes Over Independent Electoral Commission


Gambia’s longtime dictator Yahya Jammeh, has defied West African regional leaders, following calls for his stepping down from the Presidency, the Freedom Newspaper can reveal. The dictator told a delegation of African leaders assigned to mediate and convince Jammeh to allow a peaceful transition of  power to President elect Barrow, that he is determined to challenge the results of the December, 1st election in court. Hence, Jammeh said he is not going to entertain any talks for his withdrawal from the Presidency. The Banjul talks was a complete failure. No deal, or breakthrough was reached by the visiting African leaders.

While African Heads of State were in Banjul to meet Jammeh and President elect Adama Barrow, the dictator, has already taken over the offices of the Independent electoral Commission—the IEC election house. IEC workers, including its Chairman Alieu Mamar Njai, were denied access to the Commission on Tuesday. Armed guards have taken over the building. No one is allowed to have access to the building, said a source.

There Are Communities In Abuja Who Kill Twins, Infants Who Lose Mom At Birth, Because They Believe They Are Evil

Missionaries running the Vine Heritage Home, Kuje, Abuja have rescued no lesser than 103 infants, including sets of twins and albinos from 55 communities practising infanticide.

The youngest of the children are a set of twins, David and Davida, and another female infant, Angelica, whose mother died during childbirth.

The operators of the home, Mr. Olusola and Mrs. Chinwe Stevens said 55 communities in the Federal Capital Territory engaged in killing of twins and albino infants in the belief that they are evil.

According to the couple, the communities also killed infants who lost their mother during childbirth, noting that such children were believed to be responsible for the death of their mothers.

Kanye West Visits Donald Trump

Trump spoke to reporters with West by his side, calling the rapper a "good man" and telling journalists that they have been "friends for a long time."

West would not discuss the details of the meeting. He ignored questions about whether he plans on performing at Trump's inauguration. He also ignored a question about whether he wishes he had voted for Trump.

Amazon Prime Video is now Live in India

Amazon is all set to unveil the Prime Video services in India at an event later this day but it seems that the service has already gone live. Earlier this year Amazon had introduced the Prime Service at Rs 999 ($15) per year and now as an introductory offer, Indian users can subscribe to Prime subscription at just Rs 499 ($7.5) One can start enjoying the video services by using their Amazon.in credentials to signup for the same. As of now, the signup is only being accepted on the Android app and also the iOS app.

The Lagos State Police Command says it has discovered a fake embassy operating in Lagos where many innocent members of the public had allegedly been defrauded.

It was gathered that policemen attached to the Rapid Response Squad (RRS) had swooped on the ‘embassy’ and arrested two Chinese and two Nigerians.

It was learnt that the fake embassy was located at Golden Point and Suite on Duduyemi Street in Ejigbo, Lagos.

The RRS said the Chinese – Liu Honyang, 47; and Sun Xinai, 49 – and their Nigerian collaborators – Oriyomi Olawale, 47 and Desmond Chinedu, 25 –  had been swindling Nigerians who had planned  to travel out of the country.

Parents in Markurdi, Benue State, Nigeria have sparked criticism after they buried their son's legs in the ground because of his inability to walk as at when due.

Jeph Toochukwu Ezeokoli who shares the same neighborhood with the parents and made the photos available but decline to give details of the parents, stated;

Banana seller kidnaps, sells three-year-old boy for N450,000 in Imo


A three-year-old boy is said to have been kidnapped and sold for N450,000 by a banana seller identified as Chibuzor Eze in Owerri, the Imo state capital.
The suspect, who was said to be a family friend of the boy, hails from Umuifa village in Oru-East Local Government Area of the state.
A family source told Punch that the boy was playing around the family compound at about 8am when she allegedly pick him and took the boy to Owerri.
According to the report, the suspect allegedly sold the boy to a man who paid her N150,000 upfront and promised to give her the balance later.

Man Sentenced To 25 Years In Prison For Killing Medical Student

A member of the National Union of Road Transport Workers in Ibadan, Akinwumi Adisa, has been sentenced to 25 years in prison with hard labour for the murder of a medical student of the Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, Anwal Shannono, on Oyo Road, Ibadan.

Justice Munta Abimbola of the Oyo State High Court, who gave the sentence, said evidence showed that Adisa was guilty of the crime he was charged with.

He, however, discharged three other members of the union, Olumide Oladeji, Sadeeq Adejide and Tajudeen Arowotosuna, on the ground that there was no enough evidence linking them to the crime.
